The long-term vision of the ISVG Open University is to create an accessible international learning platform that connects experienced knowledge holders with learners across countries and generations.
The long-term vision of the ISVG Open University is to create an accessible international learning platform that connects experienced knowledge holders with learners across countries and generations.
The concept seeks to build upon ISVG's tradition of online knowledge sharing while progressively developing more structured educational opportunities.
Its potential future scope may include professional and community learning, leadership development, volunteer education, continuing professional development, short courses, micro-learning, research and other forms of lifelong education.
A distinctive element of the concept is the recognition that valuable knowledge exists both within formal academic institutions and within the accumulated experience of professionals and practitioners.
Any future use of the term University, delivery of formally recognised qualifications, or academic degree-awarding activity shall be subject to the necessary legal authority, accreditation, academic governance and regulatory requirements.
Until such requirements are fulfilled, ISVG's learning activities should be represented as training, knowledge sharing, professional development and lifelong-learning initiatives, rather than accredited university education.
The International Scout Volunteer Group is an international volunteer, knowledge-sharing and community service network inspired by the values of Scouting.
