Leadership Development

ISVG views leadership as a responsibility to serve, guide, enable others and act with integrity.

ISVG views leadership as a responsibility to serve, guide, enable others and act with integrity.

Drawing inspiration from Scouting values and the experience available within its international network, ISVG seeks to create opportunities for members and emerging leaders to strengthen their leadership capabilities through practical participation, mentoring, knowledge exchange, organisational responsibilities and international interaction.

Leadership development within ISVG should encourage integrity, discipline, accountability, communication, teamwork, responsible decision-making, intercultural understanding and service-oriented leadership.

Experienced Scout leaders, professionals and community leaders can play an important mentoring role by sharing lessons gained through real leadership situations. At the same time, younger members should be given opportunities to participate, take responsibility, develop confidence and progressively contribute to organisational and community initiatives.

ISVG therefore sees leadership development not simply as training for a position, but as part of a continuing process of learning, responsibility and service throughout life.
