International Scout Volunteer Group (ISVG) is an international volunteer, knowledge-sharing and community service network inspired by the values and principles of Scouting and committed to serving society through experience, learning, leadership and voluntary action.
ISVG originated within the international Scouting community and continues to value the principles of service, integrity, discipline, responsibility, friendship and lifelong learning. At the same time, its evolving role provides a wider platform where Scout leaders and volunteers can connect with active and retired professionals, subject specialists, educators, trainers, researchers, mentors, community leaders and other experienced individuals who wish to contribute their knowledge, skills and experience for the benefit of society.
ISVG is founded on the belief that valuable knowledge should not be lost when people retire, complete a professional career or step away from active organisational responsibilities. Experience accumulated over decades can continue to serve society when there is an effective platform through which it can be shared with younger generations and communities. ISVG therefore seeks to connect experience with learning through mentoring, training, dialogue, knowledge exchange, digital engagement, publications, community initiatives and international cooperation.
ISVG does not seek to replace or compete with national Scout organisations or established international Scout institutions. It respects their distinct mandates and contribution to youth development and Scouting. ISVG seeks instead to play a complementary and collaborative role, creating additional opportunities for lifelong engagement, knowledge transfer, professional expertise, volunteering and community service, including areas that may extend beyond the conventional scope of Scout programmes.
By bringing together people across professions, generations, cultures and countries, ISVG seeks to transform accumulated knowledge and voluntary commitment into lasting value for communities and future generations.
Connecting Experience, Inspiring Generations.
