Inspired by Scouting Values

ISVG’s values are rooted in its Scouting heritage while providing a common ethical foundation for Scout and non-Scout members, professionals, experts and volunteers.

ISVG originated within the international Scouting community and continues to value the principles of service, integrity, discipline, responsibility, friendship and lifelong learning. Those principles are the foundation on which the wider ISVG platform is built.

The Scout Promise and Law describe a way of living that reaches well beyond the years a person spends in a uniform: duty to others, honesty, respect for people and for the natural world, and a readiness to be useful. ISVG carries those commitments into adult, professional and community life, so that the habits formed in Scouting continue to serve society across a lifetime.

At the same time, ISVG is open to people who never had the opportunity to be Scouts. Its values are expressed in plain terms so that any professional, educator, specialist or volunteer can recognise them, share them and contribute under them.

This introduction is a holding text drafted from ISVG’s existing institutional copy; the final approved wording is to be supplied by ISVG.
