Young people are important participants in the transfer of knowledge between generations and in building the future capacity of communities.
Young people are important participants in the transfer of knowledge between generations and in building the future capacity of communities.
ISVG seeks to create opportunities for young people to interact with experienced Scout leaders, professionals, specialists, educators, mentors and volunteers from different backgrounds. Through such interaction, younger generations can gain practical knowledge, career and life perspectives, leadership experience and greater understanding of voluntary and community service.
Youth engagement may take place through mentoring, learning programmes, workshops, discussions, community initiatives, international exchanges, volunteering and other activities appropriate to the age and circumstances of participants.
ISVG recognises the established role of Scout organisations and other youth organisations in delivering structured youth programmes. ISVG does not seek to duplicate or replace those programmes. Instead, it seeks to complement them by opening additional pathways through which young people can access professional expertise, intergenerational knowledge, international perspectives and community-service opportunities.
All activities involving children and young people must be undertaken in accordance with applicable safeguarding requirements and ISVG policies.
