Volunteer service has been part of ISVG's identity from its beginning and remains one of the principal ways through which knowledge, skills and goodwill can be transformed into practical benefit for society.
Volunteer service has been part of ISVG's identity from its beginning and remains one of the principal ways through which knowledge, skills and goodwill can be transformed into practical benefit for society.
ISVG encourages members to contribute their time, knowledge, professional expertise and practical abilities to activities responding to genuine community needs. Country organisations may develop initiatives appropriate to their own social and local contexts while following ISVG's values, governance requirements and applicable national laws.
Community service may include educational support, awareness programmes, skills sharing, environmental activities, community development initiatives, support during appropriate humanitarian and social programmes, and other forms of responsible voluntary action.
ISVG particularly encourages a model of skills-based volunteering, where individuals contribute not only their time but also the expertise developed through their professions, Scouting, education and life experience.
Through voluntary service, ISVG seeks to strengthen social responsibility and demonstrate a simple principle: everyone has something valuable to contribute to society.
