Knowledge transfer is a central element of ISVG's evolving purpose.
Knowledge transfer is a central element of ISVG's evolving purpose.
Across the world, Scout leaders, professionals, educators, specialists, skilled practitioners, community leaders and volunteers accumulate valuable knowledge through decades of education, work, leadership and practical experience. ISVG believes this knowledge should continue benefiting society rather than being lost when individuals retire or step away from active professional or organisational responsibilities.
ISVG therefore seeks to connect people who have experience with people who can learn from it. Active and retired professionals, experienced Scout leaders, subject specialists, educators, researchers, trainers and mentors can contribute their expertise through mentoring, seminars, webinars, workshops, discussions, publications, demonstrations, digital learning and other appropriate forms of knowledge exchange.
Knowledge transfer within ISVG is intended to be reciprocal. Experienced individuals can share lessons developed over many years, while younger participants bring new ideas, technologies and perspectives. This interaction creates opportunities for intergenerational learning, allowing knowledge to be preserved, adapted and carried forward.
Over time, this approach is also intended to contribute to ISVG's broader vision for structured lifelong learning and the future development of the ISVG Open University.
